Job Description

Head of Product (Platform)

Energy Intelligence | B2B SaaS | Oxford, Hybrid | Senior Leadership Package

About the Company

We are working with a fast-growing B2B SaaS business operating at the intersection of energy markets and data intelligence. The platform serves thousands of energy professionals each week, enabling organisations to calculate, forecast, and make critical strategic decisions across power, commodities, and the energy transition.

This is a business where ambition gets backed by real investment, ideas move quickly from whiteboard to product, and people are given the room and responsibility to grow into leaders. The team is international, deeply expert, and genuinely collaborative.

The business is scaling fast, investing heavily in AI, and trusted by some of the most influential energy sector participants in the world.

About the Head of Product Role

This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of the platform that sits at the centre of the company's product ecosystem. You will set the vision, own the roadmap, and drive the strategy for the core experience through which thousands of professionals access data, forecasts, calculations, and research every day.

You will be a key voice in the product leadership team, working closely with the CEO, commercial leadership, and engineering to shape the direction of the business. You will have a direct line into company strategy and will be expected to bring a point of view on where the product needs to go, not just how to build what has already been decided.

You will lead and develop the team around you, partnering closely with the AI Product Manager and influencing the broader product organisation. You will also shape how AI is embedded into the platform at a structural level, creating intelligent workflows that raise the ceiling of what the product can do for users.

This is a role for a seasoned product leader who has owned complex, data-driven platforms end to end, who is deeply comfortable with quantitative, calculation-heavy user environments, and who is ready to operate at a company-shaping level.

As the Head of Product, you'll be responsible for:

  • Set the platform product vision and long-term strategy, in close partnership with executive leadership
  • Own and prioritise the platform roadmap, balancing user needs, commercial objectives, and technical constraints
  • Define how users navigate, calculate, and consume data, forecasts, and research through an intelligent, high-quality product experience
  • Lead the development of shared platform capabilities including dashboarding, data visualisation, and reusable product surfaces
  • Shape the company's AI product strategy at the platform level, working with the AI Product Manager to embed AI-powered workflows that create lasting user value
  • Build and maintain deep user understanding through analytics, qualitative research, and senior customer relationships
  • Drive and influence cross-functional delivery across engineering, design, data, and commercial teams
  • Line manage and develop product talent, setting a high bar for craft and execution across the team
  • Own commercial product outcomes including adoption, engagement, retention, and revenue contribution
  • Partner with commercial teams to improve engagement, product adoption, and cross-sell opportunities through strong product decisions and platform development

What you need to succeed in your application

This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of of Product to take ownership and really drive the businesses forward. It'll suit someone with some management and leadership experience, who enjoys operating end to end, with proven experience in improving existing products and integrating new offerings.

  • 8+ years in product management, with at least 2 years in a Head of Product or equivalent senior leadership role
  • 5+ years proven ownership of data or intelligence products and platforms in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Deep comfort with data-heavy, quantitative environments: you understand how professionals work with numbers, models, and structured data, and you build experiences that make that work faster and smarter
  • Track record of influencing company-level strategy through product, not just executing against it
  • Strong leadership and people development skills, with experience building and managing product teams
  • Possess strong product judgment, with the ability to make clear prioritisation decisions and balance user needs, strategic goals, and delivery constraints
  • Excellent stakeholder management across executive, commercial, and engineering functions
  • AI-native: you use agentic AI tools actively in your own work and have a clear point of view on how AI changes product strategy
  • Have used AI-powered workflows and interfaces into streamlining workflows.
  • Commercially sharp, with a strong grasp of how product decisions translate into business outcomes

Desirable

  • Experience in energy markets, financial data, legal data, commodities trading, or adjacent sectors
  • Background in analytics platforms, market intelligence tools, or forecasting and modelling products
  • Experience driving AI feature strategy within a user-facing product
  • Familiarity with calculation engines, scenario modelling, or decision-support tools
  • Experience working on platform products, shared capabilities, or multi-product ecosystems

Package

  • Competitive senior base salary (£92,500 - 105,500)
  • Private Medical and Dental Insurance
  • Salary-exchange pension
  • Parental support and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Hybrid working with flexible hours
  • A seat at the table in a business shaping how the energy sector makes its most important decisions
