About the Company

Solis Recruitment is partnering with a high‑growth digital commerce platform expanding its seller acquisition and onboarding capabilities across the DACH region. As part of this expansion, the business is hiring a Business Development Lead to strengthen and scale its inbound acquisition engine in Munich.

This is a hands‑on commercial leadership role where you will build and manage a remote Business Development team, implement structured BD processes, and deliver consistent seller growth.


About the Role

You will lead a remote team responsible for converting inbound leads, onboarding new sellers, and driving early activation. The role requires strong commercial acumen, operational rigour, and the ability to manage performance in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

You will design and optimise BD processes, coach the team to deliver measurable results, and ensure sellers transition smoothly from outreach to activation.


Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high‑performance remote BD team (10–15 executives).
  • Build a structured operating rhythm including daily KPI reviews, weekly coaching, and regular performance assessments.
  • Lead from the front with a hands‑on approach to conversion quality and pipeline management.
  • Foster strong engagement, accountability, and communication within a remote environment.

2. Inbound Lead Management & Seller Onboarding

  • Build a consistent BD workflow covering outreach, qualification, negotiation, and onboarding.
  • Develop templates, scripts, and playbooks to support consistent execution.
  • Ensure leads are prioritised and managed within SLAs.
  • Oversee onboarding quality to ensure sellers are prepared for early activation.

3. Data‑Driven Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Track KPIs including inbound conversion, pitch‑to‑close, onboarding cycle time, and activation readiness.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement targeted improvements.
  • Run coaching sessions, workshops, and process refinements.
  • Provide clear, insight‑driven performance updates to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Business Development experience, including 2+ years leading remote teams.
  • Proven track record scaling BD teams and delivering consistent commercial outcomes.
  • Strong process design and operational optimisation skills.
  • Fluent German + working proficiency in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience working at eCommerce platforms or specialist management consultancies would be highly relevant and beneficial.

Preferred

  • Marketplace or digital seller‑ecosystem experience.
  • Strong data literacy and CRM proficiency.
  • Experience sustaining high engagement in distributed teams.
