About the Company

Solis Recruitment is working with a growing boutique agency that partners with mid-to-large clients across sectors such as eCommerce, Education, Property, Technology and more. Known for its technical depth and collaborative culture, the agency is evolving its SEO offering to meet the demands of an AI-driven digital landscape.

This is a strategic leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys mentoring others, and wants to shape the future of SEO delivery and culture within a high-performing team.

The Role

As Head of SEO, you’ll lead a small team of SEO specialists, drive innovation in technical SEO, and play a key role in client growth, retention, and satisfaction. You’ll be hands-on with strategy, delivery, and client relationships, while also building scalable processes and frameworks that elevate the agency’s reputation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring the SEO team, setting OKRs and career development plans
  • Architecting modern SEO strategies, with a strong focus on technical SEO for large-scale websites (1M+ URLs)
  • Developing and refining SOPs, deliverables, and QA processes
  • Championing automation and AI tools (including RAG) to improve efficiency
  • Representing Technical SEO in pitches, QBRs, and strategic client conversations
  • Driving client KPIs - increasing clicks, conversions, and satisfaction
  • Building SEO deliverables and reports that align with client goals
  • Delivering high NPS and client satisfaction scores
  • Identifying team gaps and building hiring plans aligned with growth forecasts
  • Finding ways to drive efficiency and work more effectively, without losing quality of work.
  • Producing training documentation and governance for career progression
  • Contributing to thought leadership through content, media, and events

About You

You’ll already be operating at a senior level within an agency environment, with a proven track record of leading SEO teams and delivering results for complex client portfolios.

You will have/be:

  • 10+ years’ agency experience in SEO, working with reputable agencies in the UK
  • Experience working with enterprise level clients
  • Deep technical SEO expertise and experience managing large-scale websites
  • Strong consulting skills and written communication
  • Firm grasp of AI, RAG and automation for common SEO processes
  • Comfortable leading from the front and getting hands-on with clients
  • Experience hiring, training, and scaling SEO teams
  • Able to build and evolve internal processes and delivery frameworks

If you're someone who enjoys setting strategy and getting your hands dirty with big clients, comfortable managing the enterprise client relationships and want to play a critical role in growing agency, then this is the perfect move for you.

Culture & Benefits

You’ll play an integral role in shaping the agency’s culture, values, and ways of working.

  • 4-day working week
  • Hybrid setup with a collaborative London office
  • Help shape progression pathways and team development
  • Direct influence on team structure and training
  • Opportunity to lead thought leadership initiatives across content, media, and events

If this role excites you but you don't tick every box, we still encourage you to apply!

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK - visa sponsorship is not available.
